Job Seeking Services

Information and Referral System (IRS)

The IRS is a community resource, which allows information on careers and occupations, the local labour market, training opportunities, and job search strategies.  This is the first step to training that we will support you in.

Workshops are held regularly regarding various topics which includes the following:

                  *WHMIS training

                  *MS Office, Excel, Word, Power Point

                  *Smart Serve

                  *Service Excellence                       

                  *Typing Skills

 

Employment Planning and Preparation (EPP)  

The EPP is designed to assist participants in developing the skills and confidence necessary to find and maintain employment.

There is a Career Clarification workshop available, dealing with all aspects of getting and accepting a job which includes:

                  *Employers expectations and   

                   employees responsibilities

                  *Stress Management

                  *The importance of attendance, job 

                   maintenance

 

Job Development Placement Support (JDPS) 

The JDPS (Job Development Placement Service) is for individuals who need to improve their employability and develop skills relevant to their career goals. We will assist the individual with this endeavour in a variety of ways:

                     *Job Shadow

                     *Volunteer Placement

                     *Job Trial

                     *Job Placement

                     *On-going-support

 

Summer Job Service (SJS)

Providing youth with information knowledge and skills to find a job on their own. Providing employers with access to youth who are ready to work in the summer.
